Policy for Campus Main Page
Events Listings
The events listed on the main campus page have the following characteristics:
- The event is non-repetitive (i.e. no long term exhibits)
- The event is open to the public.
- The event is free and no donation is requested.
If your event does not fall within those requirements, you may request an advertisement to be placed on the main page.
Advertisement Listings
Advertisments are the small images on the right side of the main campus page.
Any event can request an advertisement. The advertisements listed on the main page have the following requirements:
- Advertisements are only for 7 days (does not have to be Sun. - Sun.) (14 days is possible with special circumstances.)
- Only one advertisement from a unit can be displayed at a time.
- The advertisement is an image that is 86x86 pixels.
- The advertisement is a static image. (no animations)
- The text is placed on the image by the Webmaster.
- Advertisements are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Advertisements can be preempted by Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor request.
- The Office of Marketing & Media Relations can refuse to post an advertisement for any reason.
To have an advertisement created for your event, please provide the following information to Webmaster:
- Image, preferably large and preferably without text in the image. Most image formats accepted. No clip-art please.
- The title of the event.
- The URL to which the image should be linked. This can be a page on your web site or a listing on the events calendar.
- The date range for which you would like the advertisement displayed.
Spotlight Story Listings
The spotlight story is the large image on the main campus page. Decisions as to its content are made by the Office of Marketing & Media Relations.
Any campus group may request to have an event or story listed. Spotlight requests have the following requirements:
- Spotlight is for one day. Some may run for two days, or three days (covering a weekend) at the discression of the Office of Marketing & Media Relations.
- The spotlight may not run on the day requested, but may be placed on an earlier day.
- The spotlight is an image that is 500x200 pixels.
- The spotlight is a static image. (no animations)
- The text is placed on the image by the Office of Marketing & Media Relations.
- The Office of Marketing & Media Relations can refuse to post a spotlight for any reason.
To have a spotlight created for your event or story, please provide the following information to Webmaster:
- One or more images, preferably large and preferably without text in the image. Most image formats accepted. No clip-art please.
- The title of the event or story. Refer to current spotlights for length of text.
- The URL to which the spotlight should be linked. This can be a page on your web site or a listing on the events calendar.
- The date for which you would like the spotlight displayed.
